October 18, 2018  (Winfield, KS) – The final details are in the works for the 11th annual William Newton Healthcare Foundation Gala, themed “Cheers to the Symphony of Life.” The sold-out, invitation only event will take place this Saturday at Wheat State Wine Company in Winfield. Union State Bank is once again the presenting sponsor for what has become the foundation’s largest single fundraising event.

Earlier this week, Union State Bank CEO Eric Kurtz, and Winfield Market President Cory Helmer presented a $10,000.00 sponsorship check to Annika Morris, Director of the William Newton Healthcare Foundation and Ben Quinton, CEO of William Newton Hospital. A group of four, three men and one woman, dressed in business attire holding as a group an oversized check from Union State Bank made out to the William Newton Healthcare Foundation for $10,000.

“We are honored to be the presenting sponsor for the seventh year in a row. We have seen the benefit of our contributions over the years having a material impact on the hospital. It’s a pleasure for the directors and officers of Union State Bank to see the growth of the hospital, knowing that we have helped to facilitate that growth through donations to the William Newton Healthcare Foundation,” Kurtz said.

The WNHF Gala has raised over $250,000 since 2011. Over $42,000 was raised at the 2017 event alone.

“Because of donors like USB, we are able to assist William Newton Hospital in meeting their needs so that WNH can deliver quality healthcare, always. Thanks to their past support, they have assisted the hospital with the following initiatives at WNH: Physician Recruitment, the Family Birthing Center, the Surgical Center and the Central Plant Project,” Morris said.

Over the years, Union State Bank has given a total of $177,675 to the hospital.

“Union State Bank is proud to partner with the William Newton Healthcare Foundation. We deeply appreciate having a community-minded organization fostering the growth and development of healthcare in our area,” Helmer said.

The WNHF Gala includes a silent and live auction for a wide variety of gifts and experiences. Advanced bidding and phone bidding are available. For more information visit www.wnhfoundation.org or call 620-222-6275.
